Ray Robillard - Pen
Tool / Bézier Curves
"Your little QuickTime movies are excellent, I
just took a peek at one so far. You know, when I
signed up for this class, I was a little skeptical
about how someone could possibly teach the pen tool
properly in an online course, but between your
movies and your diagrams, you're doing a pretty darn
good job so far, I must say!"
KP
Sara Froehlich - Photoshop
Elements, Freehand, Fireworks,
Filters, Expression Level 2, Canvas
"I don't know where to begin in thanking you for
this tremendous learning experience. If asked the
question - did learning take place?YES! In a short
time, you effectively presented enough material to
give a novice a solid foundation in Fireworks. The
exercises were educational and enjoyable. This
course was similar to what I would expect at a
college/high school and for only $20.00 - Wow!
Thank you so much!
Best wishes,"
Stacey
"I have learned so much with your
Photoshop Elements' class! Never have I progressed so
fast with any software ever or had so much fun!"

"Also I wanted to let you know that I'm currently
enrolled in Sara Froehlich's Freehand Class. I've taken several
Online courses, and I just want to let you know how impressed I
am with her course, she has really gone to great lengths
to cover allot of material and provided excellent feedback. I
plan to take several courses of hers in the
future"

"I am soooooooo enjoying the lessons. AT LEAST they
are real lessons! I honestly feel I am actually LEARNING FW4
and Freehand. I am really FINALLY getting a handle on it after
so much struggling.......THANK YOU."
*
Thanks for being such a fabulous help.
I can tell you any further successes I have will always have a
connection to you!"

"I just uploaded my week 6 homework. I can't
believe how far I have come in 6 short weeks. I went
from needing basic instructions (such as: turn your
computer on, LOL)
to being able to do some amazing things.
Thank you, Sara, for being so patient with a total
beginner. : ) I plan on taking the class for beginners
in September. I'm also thinking of taking this class
over again in July to reinforce all that we have
learned.
I've really enjoyed this class and all the wonderful
people taking it. Sara, you have been a delightful
teacher.
Thanks so much!"
Pam
"I'm delighted that
I signed up for your Expression Level 2 course. I
thought I knew a lot about Expression, being a
professional cartoonist and having used the software
since version 1, but your training has made a huge
difference to me in terms of productivity and
confidence." Aongus
Linda
Johnson - The Office Programs
"Again-without
being overly solicitous---my skills have been
greatly enhanced--I went through a rough time--no
job, selling apartment, daughter graduated high
school---but decided to become a computer whiz to
improve my marketable skills--I can't tell you how
helpful all of this has been.
I am now building a media data base (I am in PR)
with excel--like a pro. Could not have done it
without you. Now looking forward to my new job, new
apartment--all good things. Thanks. I will be back
in the future--once the dust settles.
-All the best." Susan
"My first experience with the
Electric Academy was just great! I am amazed at how much
you offer and how easy it is to access, the support and
teaching staff, in my case Linda Johnson who is very
impressive. I recommend this site to everyone."
Elizabeth
"Complete. Wow. I have
really enjoyed this class and I have learned a lot. I had no
idea I could manipulate data like this. I always knew I
hadn't tapped much in the way of Access but now I can hardly
wait to learn what I don't know about Excel! Wow! This is
great. Some of the best money I have ever spent on learning
software."
Bret
"Hi Linda, I have completed
lesson 6. I enjoyed the class. It was well put together and
easy to follow. In fact I enjoyed it so much you are stuck with
me for another 6 weeks in your Word class. Thanks for
everything and I will see you next month."
Bob
"I'd like to
take a moment to let you know how great the 3 courses I've
taken through Eclectic Academy have been. Linda Johnson
taught my Access 101 and Excel 101 classes and James and Laura
LaBorde taught the Intermediate Access class. Without
exception they all made my online learning experience so
easy. Without the help and support of patient,
knowledgeable instructors, online learning can
be difficult and intimidating. The EA instructors
were always ready with detailed, patient explanations, even
when I needed something explained more than once. They
also had the knack of making you feel as though you were
talking to a friend, not some stranger in cyberspace. As
long as Eclectic Academy continues to offer courses I'm
interested in, I'll keep coming
back.
Thank you for making such complete, friendly, and
inexpensive online classes available."
Diane Rainaud
"Linda once again you top the charts
with your ease of the class. I have never used the Journal but
now I may use it. Thank you for all your classes I have taken
and I will look to see what else is there that I may benefit
from taking. Thanks again."
"I took your Excel 101
class, and I use what I learn almost every day at
work. I'll start using these PPt skills immediately,
too.
Thought you might like to know that my first
presentation will be for a doctor who is conducting a
study to help cancer patients.
Also, I passed out info on the EA to my team of
project managment consultants at a meeting today. Your
classes are great for busy professionals!"
Alicia
"I just completed my Antenna Modeling Course with alot
of Electical Engineers
who have a great use of EXCEL spreadsheets. I only
missed one question on
the final exam/all tests/projects with a lot of
spreadsheets in Excel and
ended up 3rd in my class of 11 people this term. So
two folks got them all
right! I was ranked in the upper 25 of 156 students. I
COULD NOT HAVE DONE
THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP TEACHING ME EXCEL! Thank-you
very much."

Kristi Schueler - Altered
Books, Bookmaking - Part 1 & 2, and Collage
I'm taking the altered book
class by Kristi Schueler. She has been very helpful and
has inspired me with her lessons and examples. If there
is a problem regarding the lesson or not getting a link to work
she has the answer or at the very least points you in the right
direction.
I've wanted to try altering a book, but wasn't sure how to go
about it, but only 4 weeks into the class, I have all kinds of
ideas! It's great!
Linda K. Long
"I want to tell you how pleased I am with Kristi
Schueler's Altered Book Class. We are on the third
lesson now and the amount of information I have received from
her is amazing. I am impressed with the assignments and
have to say that I've done a lot of art for years (teacher)
and Kristi's class is still teaching me a lot about the
medium and the techniques for use with paper, and books in
particular. She is on the message board at least once a
day and is an enthusiastic supporter and coach.
Potential students may email me if they want more
information. This class has been so fun and
informative! An added bonus is the chance to
communicate with and to see work from all the other students.
Yay!"
Marybeth Anderson
"Superb course. Better than many I have paid a
lot of money for. Great way to get a wonderful overview of
materials, techniques, and methods for doing altered books."
- Georgia
Chilton
"I thought that the lessons and assignments were
very well thought out and written in easy to understand
language. I also thought that the lessons where excellent for
beginners, not too complicated to complete with a limited
amount of time and the results were well worth every penny and
minute of time spent. The format of having the easier books
leading further to the more difficult lessons was a good way of
easing everyone into the world of book making. I will be
continuing with it and hope that Kristi is able at some point
to offer a more advanced book making course." - Brenna

Christine Frey - Painter, Photoshop, Illustrator,
Corel Draw
"I wanted to
share the love here ;-). I worked on a couple of
doggie
photos for my tech writing friend Carol using the
wonderful
techniques I've learned in your Photoshop courses.
Here is her
response:
>>>>>i love love love the photos you fixed of milo!
they are such an
improvement!...in fact, i'm going to use the smiley
one for my desktop
wallpaper.
I love the cats with the special effects too! that
is so cool!
Carol<<<<<
I have you to thank Christine, I'm really enjoying
your classes.
Maybe Carol can take them soon also. I've sent her
the info."
Rita
"I fiddled for a long time with
both Painter and Photoshop-and made very little progress. I
just finished taking a course in each at the Eclectic Academy,
and had such success that I signed up for two more courses.
Bottom line is that if you can't learn with the Eclectic
Academy, you just can't learn. :-) I recommend them without
reservation."
David Osman
"There is no better way to learn Illustrator than
to take Cristine's class at the Eclectic Academy. She
is the GREATEST. I took 2 levels of it from her and
learned Soooooo much. She's the best teacher I've
encountered anywhere – and I've been to workshops that
cost much more than her class at the Academy.
I also highly recommend Christine's class in
PhotoShop. I learned more in the 12 weeks of Level I
and Level 2 than I did from any one book or other
course I took, including expensive workshops. Actually
I'm still progressing because her classes taught me to
"think" and find easier/better ways of doing things."
Careytmk
"Another fine class is ending and I am now looking
forward to Painter 8 part I. I hope there will be a
II. You have a gift. Thanks for sharing."

Dian Chapman - Word 301,
Word Autoforms/Beginning VBA and Word Advanced Document
Design
"Excellent content. The challenge
level was on target. Dian could not have been more responsive!
This was an excellent use of my training dollars. I took a
chance and was very impressed (and surprised) with the quality
and value of this [AutoText & Beginning VBA] course. I will
certainly take another course, especially if Dian Chapman is
the instructor!"
M. Elaine
Dembicki
"I very much appreciated the extra time and support
that Dian provided through class [AutoText & Beginning
VBA]. She was able to help me with a current project that fit
the scope of the course. I feel I have become a much more adept
programmer after taking her course and can hardly wait for her
to do another VBA class. I will be first in line to sign
up."
Dawn Croiser
"The most
outstanding thing is how responsive Dian is. I loved how she
immediately responded to my question about finding my way to
the class on-line. But, she was like that from the time I first
e-mailed her -- and I had no idea who she was -- with a
question. I was really impressed -- then and now. The other
good thing is how clearly Dian writes. And, one of the things I
do is technical writing. She is very clear."

Fred Clark - Beginning
Photography
"Very exciting: took a photo today on
automatic...then took a 2nd shot one stop down, and it
came out MUCH BETTER!!! Will try to load both of them,
so you can see. It's not a creative shot, but I was
knocked out what a difference it made!!!
If this is all I learn (and I hope it isn't), this
course will have been worth it!"
Rita
"I'd like to take a few moments to let you
know how dedicated Fred, my teacher for the
Photography Class, he is.
He posted comments on my Pbase account for every
picture I took for the class. I took more than he
suggested because I wanted to make sure I'd
understand, so he wasn't really forced to comment on
every one of them. He's very, very dedicated and
professional. And his comments are always on the
spot (even though this means I need to practice,
practice and then some more!). Detailed
explanations, written examples, and all this in a
way that encourage me to go further.
A fine teacher who's really appreciated!"

Ray Seegar
- Basic Computer Maintenance
"Thanks for offering this much needed class. I love
my computer and I have had one for many years (not the same
one). We have 3 in our house now but we don't even know many of
the basics. It is like a car, I turn the key and it is supposed
to run. If not I haven't a clue as to why. So I think that your
class is one of the wisest investments I could make. Looking
forward to learning more."

Renae Bolton
- Beginning Virtual Office Assistant, Guerrilla
Marketing for your small business
"I really
want to thank you for the help so far. I've been
searching for a few years for the information you've
already provided. I'm so glad I'm taking this class
and you're willing to part with such great
information! Thank you!"

Madeleine Jacobs - Traditional
Art courses including pastels, watercolor and drawing.
Painting with Painter and Paint Shop Pro. & Paint Shop
Pro 8
"Madeleine, I
have found that I have become more relaxed and loose
with the pastels. I can now draw loosely my project
with the pastels itself instead of pencil. And...it
works out just fine! I believe this may be an
important breakthrough for meas I always try to be a
perfectionist and that is not good. So, again thanks
for a lesson within a lesson :) "
Rose
"This
lesson was fun as has been the class. I have drawn a
bit (not enough to be very good at it), but never
used or looked at the gray scale values, as a
photographer the loves black & white I should have.
Learned a lot from the all the lessons. Having
been using computers for tool designs for a long
time I miss the feel of a pencil on paper so I think
it is time to keep drawing."
Jack
"I would like you to know how much I enjoyed
talking to you via e-mail, getting to know you
better, and your helpful critiques. I have learned
so much in your classes! I decided to take a short
break between the drawing classes and watercolor ( I
will begin in March with that I think) so I could
practice what I have learned before going on."
Carol
"You are just
so NEAT!! I am such a newbie at watercolors; I was
terrified when I saw the lesson using gradient washes.
Nevertheless, the more I looked at it, the more I
realized I could do it. I've been practicing the
strokes for a while but have not had the courage to
put them together into one image.
I have to tell you that the second paragraph in your
welcoming letter was FANTASTIC! It stated the beauty
and simplicity about watercolor painting more clearly
then all the books and videos I've studied. In fact,
that is why the gradation lesson is not as scary as it
would have otherwise been :)
So, if you want to know my opinion on your teaching
skills? I can already tell you I am amazed and
grateful!! Looking forward to much more"
Leslie
"I have now
completed Madeleine Jacobs' Basic Drawing 101 course.
While I found in it much motivation for hard work, the
overall experience was useful and delightful at the
same time. Madeleine's lesson format was concise, yet
covered a myriad of basic drawing skills with good
progression over the six weeks. In addition, her
personal critiques of my posted work were thoughtful
and thorough."

Ed
Wiser - Painter Watercolor Palette, Pastel Palette,
Wacom Tablet
"Ed, thanks
for all the good information. I have posted my final
assignment for the Wacom tablet. You've given me a
taste of drawing and I have really enjoyed it. I am
not an artist by any stretch of the imagination but
I've learned a lot and will enjoy building on those
skills."

Sharon & Roy Montero -
SEO The Write Way
"I just
wanted to take a moment and thank you from the bottom
of my heart, for your excellent guidance for the past
6 weeks. I've learned so many great things! From where
to place my keywords, to link reputation, to how to
increase your rankings with Backward Links, to
Understanding my Server Log Files, and so much more …
I especially commend you for taking the time to give
us detailed explanations, sometimes more than once,
until we got it.
Your suggestions are already paying off for my Gift
Baskets website and I can't wait to see the results
once I implement everything I learned. I wish you
continued success, and I hope you continue to teach
classes about SEO."
Sincerely, Adriana
"This is the
best online class I've ever taken period. Although my
company current sells SEO services (and we do pretty
well at it) I still managed to pick up some GEMS with
the class both pertaining to SEO methods as well as
practices. The instructors are extremely impressive,
knowledgeable and available for questions/concerns. I
feel I owe Sharon and Roy more money as $20 seems not
nearly enough for what I got out of the course. I
highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn
some very necessary elements of the SEO puzzle.
Thanks for helping us SEO'ers out!"

"This was a
really cool lesson - and I'm not even done with it
yet!
I have used the script for pre-loading images before
(the old 'cut and paste' routine), but I never
understood what it did or how.....and now I do! Way
cool!"

been a great class. I've really enjoyed it and I've
picked up something from EVERY lesson. Thanks"

Debbie Miller -
Intro to FrontPage 2000/2002, FrontPage Themes,
Intro to Feng Shui
"Thank you for
helping me out in this course. I have learned that
there is a lot to Feng Shui and will be checking out
some of those recommended books and links. I feel
like I have changed the energy in our home some by
making a few little changes here and there - some
things that I would not have thought of before this
course. I like the changes and I feel that these
changes may have helped in some of the other changes
that have happened in our lives since the beginning
of this course. Although maybe I will slow down a
little as it all seems to be happening so fast! ;-}
Thanks again for taking the time to do this course!
